Even though Beckham didn't make his country's team, he still had spirit. "I've always been a fan of the Olympics," he said. Sir Paul McCartney closed out the three-hour Opening Ceremony with the Beatles' classic "Hey Jude," which had the entire Olympic Stadium singing along. British '80s rockers Duran Duran represented their country in the Opening Ceremony Celebration Concert, which also featured artists from Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, and took place in Hyde Park at the same time the Opening Ceremony was happening across town. Though they've been playing together for 30 years, bassist John Taylor (right) said the Olympics was their most nerve-racking performance. "We’ve never done a gig with more stress around it, in terms of timing and being on stage and connecting with what is happening on the other side of London," he said. "This is high-concept."
